Open question: Is it safe to give my social security number to a radio station if I win a competition?

I won straight maps, in order to go to a baseball play on 98.7 into Los Angeles. I must supplement forms (W-9 and other one) around the maps too to receive and hand supply her, as I mean maps simultaneous waive. The forms ask me for my SSN. Is so to do safe?
