Open question: what are the punishments, if they cancel sale of the house under contract?

I buy a new house in the morning and, which are unfortunate over estimation in good faith. I have, my present house under the contract, to sell however would like it to finally hold and new house not buy. What exactly are the punishments, if I did not like to sell my house? It is my house.
