Gwar: death of guitarist Cory Smoot aka Flattus Maximus
RIP Flattus Maximus. The American cult metal band Gwar is in mourning. Guitarist Cory Smoot, aka Maximus Flattus on stage, died Nov. 3.
He was found dead in Minneapolis a few hours before training masked takes the road to play in Canada. The reasons for his death are unknown at this stage.
The news was reported by the frontman Dave Brockie of Gwar aka Orderus Urungus. Gwar is a heavy metal band cosmic satire created in Richmond, Virginia in 1984.
Its benefits are known for their obscenities, their bloodshed, they staged gore and of course the costumes alien monster musicians.
Cory Smoot was built in 2002 Gwar. He co produced two recent albums.
