Republican Herman Cain accused of sexual acts "displaced", his campaign undermined

An American on Monday accused the Republican Herman Cain of sexual acts "very moved" with a stab in the presidential campaign of one that caused a surprise by taking the lead in recent polls for the Republican nomination.

M. Cain, the only Black among the eight candidates for the nomination of his party, has been challenged by at least three other women who remained anonymous. He immediately rejected the "false accusations".

Sharon Bialek, mother of a 13-year-old accused Mr. Cain of trying to obtain sexual favors at a meeting in Washington in July 1997, when she had contacted to the help to find work.

At a press conference in New York, she explained that Mr. Cain had "slipped his hand under her skirt to achieve gender" as they were alone in a car after having dinner together. "He also took the lead for the closer to his crotch," she said, telling him to stop asking, "what he did."

"Mr. Cain said, you want a job, right?", Also told his accuser with long hair platinum blonde, who had known a few months earlier at the convention of the National Restaurant Association ( NRA) which Mr. Cain was then the president.

She added that she was speaking for "all women are sexually harassed."

"All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone," said the campaign team of Republican candidate after the press conference Ms. Bialek, which is defended by a famous feminist lawyer, Gloria Allred.

Since early October, Herman Cain, 65, former owner of a pizza chain that has never been elected office, against all odds was leading the race for the Republican nomination for the presidency in 2012 by some passing Polls before the favorite Mitt Romney.

The first accusations of harassment have surfaced on October 30, but Ms. Bialek is the first woman to break the anonymity.

Mr. Cain reported these days a "witch hunt" to scuttle his campaign. But after explanations and denials confused, he acknowledged that in one case, the case ended in a financial settlement out of court.

Ms. Allred, whose firm has worked on several high profile cases including the OJ Simpson case and that of extra-marital affairs of golfer Tiger Woods, said the case of Ms. Bialek added to that of three other women.

In both cases, after an internal complaint filed with the NRA in the 90's, the complainants obtained a settlement of tens of thousands of dollars, according to the American press. A third woman has not formalized its complaint.

In the last survey date, made after the beginning of the revelations, Mr. Cain is again overwhelmed by Mitt Romney (23% against 25% of the vote among Republicans according to the survey ABC News / Washington Post).

Followed by this very American media does not seem unduly frighten Republican voters.

55% of them, the case is "not a serious problem" and 70% of them will not change their vote, according to a Washington Post-ABC poll published Friday.
